Energy 52 - Cafe Del Mar (Vocal Radio Edit) 2002

Back in the early 2000s there was going to be a vocal mix of ‘Café Del Mar’. The only place to hear it is Above & Beyond’s Trance Around The World episode 006, labelled as ‘ID – Kansai Del Mar’, but as Tony McGuinness explains:
“This week’s ‘Stuck In The Box’ may sound like a cheeky bootleg to you, but that’s because you don’t know the real story – this was the original vocal written for Café Del Mar a long, long time ago, and it’s been in my box for about two years and always brings the roof down every time I play it…”

The vocal later became ‘Kansai – Remember This Night’, although there are some additional lyrics in the Café Del Mar version that didn’t make it into the Kansai track.

I thought it would be fun to take the TATW broadcast, put the tempo back to its original 133bpm, edit it down and set it against the original video to see how the vocal radio version might have sounded. Obviously the sound quality is low, but for 2004 internet radio streams it’s as good as you’re going to get.
