Victor Shoup explains Chain Key cryptography, one of the fundamental breakthroughs behind the Internet Computer blockchain, enabling it to have a single public key. This allows any smart device to verify the authenticity of artifacts from the Internet Computer. His overview includes a discussion of threshold ECDSA signing, which enables canister smart contracts to have an ECDSA public key and to sign with regard to it - which is a prerequisite for the Internet Computer's direct integrations with Bitcoin and Ethereum.
