Argonne intern Lizmarie Camacho Velรกzquez from the Pontifical Catholic University of Puerto Rico worked with Argonne mentor Margaret MacDonell in studying smartphone apps for use in citizen science projects. This research will help citizens participate in scientific research, collecting and sharing valuable data throughout the world.
Argonne aims to develop the next generation of scientists, researchers, and engineers by mentoring over 300 undergraduate and graduate students a year from over 40 STEM majors in over 15 different career development programs. Students come from over 160 colleges and universities in 41 states and 15 countries.
