Tasting & Rating Insects in Cambodia 🕷️

*Trigger warning* I eat a lot of insects in this video. I love exploring cultures through food and I do believe that if something has been eaten in a culture for decades, its safe and most likely healthy if eaten in a place where locals eat or that is recommended by locals.

People started eating insects because they became displaced cuz of the Khmer Rouge war and took refuge in the countyside. There wasn’t much to eat around so they started eating insects for protein and immunity building and slowly it became a part of their culture. This particular market we were told later is quite the tourist trap so I’d suggest trying them out at a night market instead.

Please don’t come at me with Covid wuhan bat soup logic cuz none of us know what really happened.

Oh also random fact - Tarantula bum is healthy cuz they eat roots that make the poopoo good! 💩🤓
