Sergei Ponomarenko is a figure from a widely circulated urban legend or time travel conspiracy theory. According to the story, he was a Soviet man born in the 1930s who mysteriously appeared in Kyiv in 2006, claiming to be from 1958. He reportedly had an old-fashioned camera and undeveloped film, which, when processed, showed images consistent with the 1950s, including a photo of himself with a mysterious UFO.
He was allegedly taken to a psychiatric hospital but soon vanished without a trace.
