E.T. Fact: Real Doctors in the Heartbreaking Scene 👩‍⚕️

Real doctors were used for a scene! During the heartbreaking scene in which we see E.T begin to die, a large group of doctors surround him to save his life, but they weren’t played by actors. All of the doctors saving his life were real life doctors. Director Steven Spielberg felt that this would be the best way to get the most genuine dialogue, and so he recruited doctors from the USC medical centre in Los Angeles and gave them the direction of treating E.T as if he was a human patient.
