Delta Reports Impressive Q4 Profit Surge Amid Strong Travel Demand

Delta more than doubled its fourth-quarter profit year-over-year as strong travel demand, especially international, drove record 2023 revenue. However, shares fell 5% as full-year earnings guidance was lowered. Fourth-quarter profit was $2.04 billion versus $828 million a year earlier. Revenue rose 6% to $14.22 billion. Delta forecast 2024 EPS of $6-7, below a previous $7+ prediction. Revenue from premium cabins grew 15% in Q4 outpacing 10% growth in main cabin. Aircraft parts supply challenges remain an issue.
