Indeevar Ji || इंदीवर जी (1 January 1924 - 27 February 1997).
One of Hindi cinema’s most prolific lyricists / गीतकार.
Across four decades, his pen wove magic, giving voice to love, longing, and life itself.
🔸Indeevar's real name is Shyamlal Rai.
🔸He was born in Jhansi district of Bundelkhand.
🔸He started composing poems in childhood. At the age of 16, the British government arrested him for inciting rebellion and put him in jail for composing poems full of patriotism and reciting them in public.
🔸After being released, He became active in the freedom movement and while continuously doing Satyagraha, he spent 2 years and 10 months in Jhansi Jail.
🔸Indeevar sang the song of Manoj Kumar's film 'Poorab aur Pashchim - "Hai preet jahan ki reet sada, main geet wahan ke gata hoon, Bharat ka rahane vala hoon, Bharat ki baat sunata hoon."
🔸He wrote one thousand songs for 300 films in his film journey.
🔸He died on 27 February 1997 at the age of 73 in Mumbai.
