David Korins Introduces Broadway to His Latest Venture: The New Bond 45

About this video

The Tony-nominated scenic designer behind ''Hamilton'' blends old and new in this theater-district eatery.

One of the most popular theater-district watering holes is Bond 45, the Italian restaurant and bar that had a long tenure in a space once occupied by the old Bond Clothing Store on West 45th Street. That run ended a few years ago, but now, it's back and better than ever. The new, larger Bond 45 is situated on West 46th Street within the Edison Hotel, and in a primo location: across the street from ''Hamilton'', next door to ''Charlie and the Chocolate Factory'', and within walking distance of several other Broadway theaters.

When it came to designing the new Bond 45, restaurateur Shelly Fireman
Fireman hired David Korins, the Emmy-winning scenic designer of ''Grease Live!'' whose Broadway credits currently include ''Hamilton'', ''Dear Evan Hansen'', and ''War Paint''. Shortly after it opened its doors for the first time, Korins took TheaterMania on a walking tour.
