About this video
He said - “That last shot of The Dark Knight, that was an accident. I didn’t know how, visually, to end the film. The shot we ended up using, I only discovered in dailies. Our setup was: we had the stunt guy on the bike, and we would chase him with a vehicle filming. He goes up a ramp, and there’s a movie light shining down the ramp. He just flew into it, and it flares slightly around the edges of the cape. I saw that in dailies; it’s the tail end of the shot.”

He further added “I thought, okay, that’s the end of the film. We just hang on that as long as we dare and then cut to black. You cut to black from light, which is unusual, but it felt like the right thing to do.”
