India remains on high alert as Cyclone Ditwah approaches the Tamil Nadu–Puducherry coast, with the IMD issuing red and yellow alerts and forecasting the storm to pass as close as 30 km by evening. Heavy rain, high tides and strong winds continue across South India, while NDRF teams have been deployed to boost emergency readiness. Tamil Nadu reported three rain-related deaths. In Sri Lanka, the cyclone has already killed 159 people, damaged thousands of homes and forced over a lakh residents into shelters.
