Crafting a SHINKAL - Zoey’s Weapon From KPop Demon Hunters

KPop Demon Hunters is a thrilling animated adventure that follows an all-girl K-pop group secretly doubling as fearless demon hunters. The series blends the high energy of K-pop performances with fast-paced martial arts combat, rich Korean mythology, and flashy magical weapons.

Zoey is the energetic Korean-American maknae (youngest member) of the group HUNTR/X. She’s known for her rap skills, bright personality, and her deadly precision in combat. She’s the heart of the team — always ready with a smile, but even readier with her shin-kal.

The shin-kal is a stylized Korean ceremonial dagger, inspired by real-life shamanic sinkal used in cleansing rituals. In KPop Demon Hunters, Zoey wields twin spirit-infused shin-kal as throwing knives. She can conjure them with magic, hurl them at demons with flawless aim, and even control them telekinetically. Their neon glow and razor-sharp edges have made them one of the most recognizable weapons in the fandom.
