Costco is expanding its precious metals selection by adding Swiss-made 1-ounce platinum bars priced above a thousand dollars. Costco launched gold bars in August 2023, and they quickly began selling out within hours of each restock. By April, Wells Fargo analysts estimated Costco was selling up to $200 million worth of gold bars monthly. Platinum’s value has fluctuated, rising 15% over the last year.
