Colonial Pipeline Cyberattack

The Colonial Pipeline cyberattack took place on May 7, 2021, when Colonial Pipeline, an American oil pipeline system that originates in Houston, Texas and carries fuel oil mainly to the Southeastern United States, suffered a ransomware cyberattack that forced computerized equipment managing the pipeline to shut down. The attack halted all of the pipeline's operations.
