About this video

As a citizen scientist and an agent for change, Craig Rouskey merges his passion for social justice with his passion for science. His current work focuses on developing new platforms for the treatment of antibiotic-resistant bacterial infections. Craig strives to create and hold space for citizens to participate in broader scientific discussions and generate solutions to scientific challenges. In doing so, he has co-founded the Gonorrhea Eradication Team and Integration Task-force (GETit)--a citizen science organization that strives to bring communities together to create phage therapies. He is excited to see an empowered team emerge to take on the challenges of privatized science and eventually deliver novel therapies to people who need them.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
