CIA targets potential spies in the Chinese military

A video released by the CIA on Thursday aims to recruit potential informants within the Chinese military.
It depicts a Chinese officer reporting for duty, while a voiceover in Mandarin suggests the individual is beset by fear and mistrust of their own government.
"Anyone with leadership qualities is bound to be subject to suspicion and ruthlessly eliminated," it says.
The U.S. spy agency rolled out the video just weeks after a dramatic punch of China's top general.
Last month, China's defense ministry announced that Zhang Youxia, second-in-command behind President Xi Jinping as vice-chairman of the Central Military Commission, was under investigation.
