BALTI STYLE CHICKEN SALAN

Ingredients
Chicken breast cubed - 1 breast (⅓ kg)
Kashmiri Laal Mirch powder (Kashmiri Red chilli powder) 1 tbsp
Namak (Salt) ½ tbsp or to taste
Garam masala powder 1 tbsp
Sookha Dhaniya (coriander seeds powder) 1 tbsp
Haldi (Turmeric powder) ½ tsp
Lasan (garlic) 1 knob
Adrak (ginger) 35 g
Hari Mirch (Green chillies) 4 chopped
Oil ½ cup
Dahi (yogurt) ½ cup
Pyaaz (onion) 1 large sliced
Tomato purée 2 tbsp + water ½ cup
Dhaniya (coriander leaves) 1 handful chopped
Method:
Heat oil in a pan and add sliced onions. Stir in medium-high flame for 3 mins.
Add prepared ginger and garlic (cook for 5 mins).
Add the following spices once the onion has become golden in colour:
Kashmiri Laal Mirch powder (Kashmiri Red chilli powder) 1 tbsp
Haldi (Turmeric powder) ½ tsp
Sookha Dhaniya (coriander seeds powder) 1 tbsp
Garam masala powder 1 tbsp
Namak (Salt) ½ tbsp or to taste
Mix until oil comes up (approximately 3-5 mins).
Next, add Tomato purée 2 tbsp + water ½ cup, along with the chicken.
Stir and cover for 5 mins on medium flame.
Add yogurt in the pan and mix until oil comes up (3-5 mins).
Top with prepared garnish (chopped green chillies and coriander leaves).
