About this video
I was asked to appear on this because I was writing/taking photo's for New Line's licensed (to Decipher) "Official Lord of the Rings" glossy, bi-monthly fan club magazine.
It was my last ever appearance as it's become a mug's game. You don't get paid. On this occasion they expected me to travel at my own cost and lose a day's pay at work just to help them out. In the end they agreed to come and film me in my London flat. The camera crew were great but the "producer" made Liberace seem butch and spent the whole time hectoring me to "Speak some Elvish. Go on. The viewers would love to hear some Elvish". Sure, and why not put a caption saying "freak" under my bits at the same time.
Was told they would inform me when it was broadcast. Of course they didn't. The aspect ratio on this is all wrong because after ripping the company a new one over the phone they sent me the whole show (over am hour) compressed onto a CD with the bad aspect ratio.
I regularly turn down requests from TV/radio companies to "help us out" now. It's a mug's game.
