CAG Criticizes Poor Implementation of JNNURM Scheme 🚧

The Comptroller and Auditor General of India has inflicted another crisis on the UPA government, which is already in the dock over the 2G scam and Coal block allocation. This time, CAG has slammed defence procurements as well as the shoddy implementation of the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission.<br /><br />On the defence procurement front, it held that the counter-trade obligations on foreign suppliers in mega defence deals has resulted in a lack of benefit worth nearly 3,500 crore rupees to Indian industry.<br /><br />On the multi Crore JNNURM project, the audit report pulled up the Government for achieving only 8.9 per cent completion.
