Buterin Criticizes Pro-Invasion Russian Journalists 🇷🇺

Ethereum creator Vtalik Buterin lashed out recently at Russian journalists who appear to be in favor of the invasion of Ukraine. This includes the editor-in-chief of the state-owned Russia Today publication. Margarita Simonyan is the editor in question, who tweeted that those who are ashamed to be Russian are not truly Russian—given what’s going on in the region. Buterin responded by tweeting “go f yourself.” Notably, the tweet also tagged Anatoly Karlin, someone who also seems to be pro-invasion. Buterin’s response has been in line with many others in the business community, and it likely helped spur a massive cryptocurrency donation drive that has seen over $5 million in crypto donated to Ukraine since the invasion began. At press time, Buterin’s Ethereum was down almost 6% at just over $2600.
