Build Your Own Homophonic Substitution Cipher with CrypTool 2 🔐

In this video, we create our own homophonic substitution cipher using CrypTool 2. Before we do so, we learn what homophonic substitution ciphers are. We also extend the created cipher to a nomenclator. Nomenclators were the standard ciphers used between the 15th and 20th centuries in Europe. Today, we only create such hand ciphers for fun or for analyzing new algorithms to break these with modern algorithms.
