From last spring, the first sessions documenting my transition from USD to Xsjado.
2013 was a year of change for me. Perhaps the biggest change I made was that of my boot sponsor. Since announcement of Xsjado developing a Hinged cuff skate I had made inquires to the conference about switching from USD to Xsjado. I knew it would be a big change but I was not expecting it to happen at a time when my whole life was changing as well. I was not only on a whole new type of skate, but I was in a very unique time in my life and the skate change mirrored my life and the way I was growing. I was living in a new home W/ no car & not exactly close to those I usually went out and skated with. So, w/o a mode of transportation, I was not able to get around to sessions like I normally would. Since the usual sessions were out, I decided to get creative and make an edit with my iPhone and kill two birds with one stone and skate around my new neighborhood and search for new spots while filming some of the tricks to see what I looked like on the 2.0. I did the extremely basic editing on my phone as well and even though the whole thing was a bit strange and not how I would normally promote my sponsors...we work with what we have and I remembered how adjusting to a new skate was something I loved about skating growing up. The tricks are not groundbreaking and unfamiliar skates and terrain are apparent. But it was fun and that is what I do this sport for. To have fun and push myself anyway that I can.
Its been about a year since I made this little deal and I have not only adjusted to the changes in my life, I have fallen in love the the Xsjado 2.0 skate design. With Sping/Summer upon us, expect to see a great deal of new blading content from not only myself, but all of the Minnesota Blading homies.
