In this fabulous resource about the lives of the great mathematicians, E.T. Bell highlights the most important mathematical breakthroughs in history. As Bell discusses the lives of each man, he also teaches the reader those complex mathematical concepts put forth by that individual and does so in an easier-to-understand format. Bell paid a serious price in research and preparation for this work, "...little of the material consulted is available outside of large university libraries, and most of it is in foreign languages." That's why, whether you read it straight through or use it as a reference, this is a valuable addition to every home library.
