About this video
How I ended up on the shortest South America backpacking trip ever (you already know the answer).
๐๏ธ I read 2 (two!) books about the Galapagos Islands in February
๐ I read probably 100 people's "South America by bus" blog posts
๐ I read the Culture Trip page for half the cities on that continent
๐จ๐ด And I envied my friends who had been enjoying it for so long already
๐ I thought about the caption for my future Instagrams of Machu Picchu and me with a sea lion...
And then the time came to go to Bogota and actually do it, and I was in the UK within 8 days ๐
I know 2020 has messed people up in way worse ways than this, but I still wanted to share my version of the "coming home from travelling because of the pandemic" story. It's not as good as Eva Zu Beck's story of coming home from Socotra, but I did shoot some footage in Bogota that I wanted to share, and it is still a good memory of a fun week even though it didn't turn in to anything more.
We were staying in Granada Hostel in Bogota's La Candelaria. It's an amazing hostel and as you can see we had a good time buying bottles of ron off them and meeting people. Monserrate seemed like a cool opportunity for a hike, but we went one day and the path was closed, and then the next time we were scared of it raining, so we took the Monseratte Furnicular. It's an amazing view up there and even though I have bad lungs I couldn't tell it was so high up!
Thank you for watching, I hope you're doing well and I'll see you in a Germany video soon x
