Bluesky Gains Over 1 Million Users in a Week, Offering An Alternative to Elon Musk’s X

Bluesky added over 1 million new users this past week. The app is positioned as an alternative to Elon Musk’s X, formerly Twitter. Most new users are from the U.S., Canada, and the UK. The Seattle-based micro-blogging platform now claims a total user base of over 15 million—still far behind X's estimated 318 million. CEO Jay Graber welcomed the new growth, noting that Bluesky seeks to offer “a better social media experience.”  The app remains ad-free and without a business model. Some recent Bluesky users cite Musk's support for Donald Trump as a motivation for switching platforms.
