The humble Lego brick is having a dramatic technological makeover that could transform how kids – and a fair few adults – play with the iconic toy.

The Danish toy maker is not a usual participant at the massive CES electronics show, which begins this week in Las Vegas. The likes of LG, Samsung and Sony are the more regular megabrands on displays.

But on Monday, local time, Lego used the Las Vegas show to unveil its “Smart Brick” – part of its new Smart Play system – for the first time.
