DC Metro's New Bus Network Eliminates 527 Stops 🚌

Big changes are coming for D.C. bus riders as Metro officially launches a new Better Bus Network, including the elimination of 527 bus stops. Every single bus route Metro runs in the DMV will also be renamed as part of the sweeping changes.

“We are connecting more people to more things. So if a hospital was there in 1975 and it’s not there in 2025, but it’s three blocks away, we want to connect with that. Schools have changed. Big apartment buildings have been built. Big job centers. So we really need to realign where people are going," said Randy Clarke, the CEO of the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority.
