When the baby drops into the pelvis the head is engaged into the pelvis. This usually happens before the start of labor, but can also happen several days prior to labor. Babies can also drop into the pelvis and the move back out of the pelvis. Sometime exercises like moving on the birthing ball can help the baby drop into the pelvis.
