About this video
About the video :
The Azerbaijani Air Force (AzAF) is the aerial warfare branch of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces, responsible for safeguarding the nation’s airspace, supporting ground troops, and conducting reconnaissance and transport missions. Established after Azerbaijan regained independence in 1991, it inherited much of its early equipment and structure from the former Soviet Union.
Headquartered in Baku, the AzAF operates a mix of fighter jets, attack aircraft, helicopters, and drones. Its fleet includes MiG-29 multirole fighters, Su-25 attack aircraft, Mi-24 helicopters, and transport aircraft, complemented by an increasingly important unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) force, with systems acquired from Turkey and Israel.
The Azerbaijani Air Force played a key role in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflicts, especially through its integration of drones and precision-strike capabilities, making it one of the more modernized and combat-experienced air arms in the Caucasus region.
