AWS Invests $500M in Small Modular Nuclear Reactors to Boost AI and Clean Energy ⚡

Amazon Web Services is investing over $500 million in nuclear power to support its clean energy goals and growing AI services. AWS has agreed with Dominion Energy to explore developing a small modular nuclear reactor near Virginia’s North Anna power station. SMRs offer quicker build times and a smaller footprint than traditional reactors, and they are crucial for meeting rising power demands in the U.S. tech industry. AWS plans to build additional SMRs in Washington State by partnering with Energy Northwest.
