Buzykin, a bright-minded professor and translator, has an indecisive personality. In his personal life, he is torn between his wife Nina and his young mistress Alla. At work, mediocre coursemate Varvara shamelessly exploits Buzykin’s talents and also interferes in his private life. He even jogs in the morning against his will at the insistence of his guest, a Danish Professor Hanson, specializing in Slavic studies.
