In this video Australian landscape photographer Michael Boniwell travels along the Victorian and New South Wales south coast in search of images. Starting at Mornington Peninsula south of Melbourne he captures a couple of photos of Bushranger Bay at dawn, before heading into Wilsons Promontory for more hiking and landscape photography. A morning walk around Tidal River is followed by a sunset shoot at Norman Bay overlooking Mt Oberon.
The journey then takes him all the way to the far east of Victoria and the sleepy little seaside town of Bemm River, about as remote as you will find. The conditions remain stubbornly bright and cloudless for much of the trip, but even so, some good images are captured, particularly towards the end of the trip, where we follow Michael up to Bermagui in New South Wales. Here he captures a scene overlooking the main beach before photographing Camel Rock at sunrise with some amazing foreground and colour.
The action then takes us south west, to the coastal city of Warrnambool in Victoria, where epic light over Hopkins Falls produces a great image. The trip ends on a high, with streaming light falling upon Beauchamp Falls in the Otways National Park.
Throughout the video Michael explains his reasons for compositional choices and indicates when advanced techniques such as focus stacking are required. If you're interest in landscape photography in Australia, this video and the others on this channel might just be the ticket.
