Assessment of a Computable Phenotype for Successful Cognitive Aging

Dr. Glenn Smith, a neuropsychologist and Director of 1 Florida Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center at the University of Florida in Gainesville, FL shares insights from his article appearing in the June 2023 issue of MCP:IQ&O, where he and the co-authors, evaluated a computable phenotype algorithm for recruitment of individuals for a successful aging study using large-scale electronic health records. Dr. Smith concludes that the study provides proof-of-concept for using EHRs to identify patients with successful aging and may provide future opportunities to study patterns of health to best predict successful cognitive aging.
