Eco-Friendly Ganesh Festival Celebrations in Thane 🌿

About this video

A neighbourhood in Thane is celebrating the Ganesh festival in a unique style. Taking the initiative to save the streets and water bodies from pollution they have been collecting the floral waste after the immersion of the idol...and handing it over for for making bio fertilizer out of the waste. The credit for this unique idea goes to the Brahmand Katta group. Volunteers of the group collect the floral waste in a huge vessel given by the Thane Municipal Corporation. The waste is then loaded and taken to the Kalwa region where it is collected in a huge pit, covered with soil and turned into compost fertilizer. Aiming to collect over 8 tonne bio fertilizer this year as compared to 5 tonnes the previous year this group is clearly is doing its best to make a difference in the festive season.
