American Couple Reacts: The Surprising History of British Food | FIRST TIME REACTION!

Hello Delicious United Kingdom! When Americans hear the words “British food,” a few stereotypes usually come to mind. And if we’re being honest, most of them (except Marmite & Twiglets) are probably completely unfair… because after watching The Real Reason British Food Has a Bad Reputation, we realized there’s a LOT more history behind British food, British cuisine, and UK food culture than Americans are usually told.

We sat down thinking we were just going to watch a quick video about British food… and instead ended up diving into the surprising history behind British cuisine, where some iconic UK dishes actually came from, and why British food somehow ended up with the reputation it has today.

And somewhere in the middle of the video we both had one of those moments where we stopped and went…

“WAIT… WHAT?! That’s American?!”

Yeah. That happened.
