Aleema Khan’s Son Shahrez Khan in Court After Arrest

Police presented Shahrez Khan, the nephew of jailed former prime minister Imran Khan, in court after arresting him during a late-night raid at his home.

The development came hours after reports claimed that Shahrez, who is the son of Aleema Khan, had been ‘abducted’ from their residence.

Police said Shahrez was arrested in connection with the May 9 riots that took place two years ago. His family, however, rejected the claim, insisting that he has no involvement in politics or with the protest movements of the embattled Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).

Shahrez is also known as Pakistan’s top Ironman athlete and had previously made headlines for becoming the nation’s number one triathlete, only the second Pakistani ever to achieve that distinction.
