Adonis Creed Suite | Creed Trilogy OST 🎶

Göransson had a lot to live up to with regards with the music of Creed, and I believe that his work evolved the musical soundscape and impact of the series as a whole. His theme for Creed is just as memorable and rousing as Rocky's, split into two different sections. His main theme, building off of a five note phrase, usually played on solemn piano. His theme has motion and energy, but it mainly has the heart and reflective nature that his character sports throughout the trilogy. There is another section to his theme that is built upon a six note phrase, usually known for it's bombastic vocal reprisal in the training montage singing "Fighting hard, fighting strong, fighting harder". What makes his theme as great as it is however is the instrumentation Göransson chooses to accompany the character with. Dissonant, ethereal guitar plucks, moody soul vocals, and some RNB elements help not only heighten Adonis' personal growth and introspection, but also his background and upbringing. And in classic Rocky fashion, his theme soars to new heights during the training montages, with bold brass and a percussive beat that's militant, abrasive, and perfectly representing the drive and power behind Creed. For Creed 2, a string ostinato accompanies his training leading into the final battle with Drago, heightening the tension and urgency of that encounter with class and bravado. There is so much more I wish to say about this theme but the description is almost at max characters. But in short, Göransson managed to create a theme not only befitting Adonis perfectly, but also evolving the musical landscape of Rocky to places its never gone before. It is as powerful and motivating as it is beautiful and personal, and the balance between action and heart is nothing short of impressive. His work on the Creed movies is masterful and already iconic, and it's no surprise it helped in getting his name in the public conscious.
