About this video
Applying for internships isnβt fun, but it is a necessary step to build your future career. Regardless of what field you are in, the steps I provide here will be useful tools to help you achieve your goals.
Firstly, we need to find internships. I found all of my internships by using two methods: cold emailing local research labs, companies, start-ups and utilizing resources provided by my schoolβs career center.
(Receive my free cold email template by filling out the form on scholarsacademy.net )
Before sending emails, make sure to do thorough research on every project or position, personalize your email, and explain how you can be helpful (mention relevant skills if any). This will show your genuine interest in the internships and increase your chances of getting one.
The majority of internship positions I applied to required a resume attachment. (Receive my free resume template by filling out the form on scholarsacademy.net )
Here is how to strengthen your resume even with little experience:
- Look for volunteer opportunities that can provide relevant experience.
- Take on small freelance projects to build your portfolio.
- Highlight your academic achievements, relevant coursework, and projects.
- Include clubs, organizations and any leadership roles.
- List any relevant technical or soft skills.
Make sure to apply to and email a lot of places to increase your chances of landing an internship.
Good luck!
