What is NFC on Android? NFC is a technology that allows wireless communication between devices over a short distance, typically a few centimeters. One of the most common uses of NFC is for contactless payments. Mobile payment systems like Google Pay, Samsung Pay and Apple Pay leverage NFC to allow users to tap their phones on point of sale terminals to make payments. To enable NFC, open the Settings app, tap Connections, then tap NFC and Contactless Payments and tap the switch. Tap Contactless Payments and select your preferred mobile payment service.
