RESULTS OF VIDEO 1 **This was the first less than half hour of use upon opening the box, see video 2 for a open up view in the welder. I was a pipe welder for decades. I have never welded with a cordless drill looking china thing and the angle takes getting used to. I own over 10 welders oldest one from 1971 newest one from 2020 and was certified in 1987 So the keyboard lazy smart A$$ remarks on "learn to weld, my sister welds better, wish a real welder tested it, etc." GFYS, Seriously, get bent over and GFYS. This was literally explained if your were not jacking-off while watching "a fast onsite OPEN BOX, WILL IT EVEN WORK VIDEO". Just Proof it welds.
*Facts on it:* The best rods for it are 100% the Hobart H117125-RDP 6013 5/64 which are 1/64 bigger and cleaner than the 1/16th 6011 ( I linked them above ) which I had for heavier steel and used. You can not and should not consider this your first welder. It's a really handy tool, and works. In further test the welder struggled with 7018 in 1/8" but welded ok, not great. I do not recommend anything larger than 5/32 trying 3/16 will win you the Tard Award. Don't do it. If you need a heavier welder for rod that will run tree limb size rod get this one, I own one, its a beast. Forney 235 AC/DC Stick Welder https://amzn.to/4gNog3C worth every dime, runs 90% all day and night.
The dial adjustment is as follows, and sensitive. 1 is about 20%, 2 is about 30%, 3 is about 50%, 4 is about 80%, 5 is full power but will send it into shorter duty cycles of 3 to 4 minutes. Using just under 4 gives you continuous welding ( about 3.80 ) with 5/32 or smaller rods.
The rods included in the kit do well if heated to 140 degrees prior to use, but are best as run over filler during a weld. A Possible TIG kit with rectifier may be tried later.
Video 2 will include output voltage, input amps, typed of Mosfets used and if you can magically convert it to DC.
Stay tuned.
Figured I'd re-up this for my Prepper Crowd
