Japan Trip: Ferry to Miyajima & Deer Encounter 🦌

We used our JR passes to ride the ferry to Miyajima, made friends with the deer and saw the amazing gate in the sea. I tried the Tommy Lee Jones iced coffee and took one of my favourite photos ever, with the deer under an umbrella.

The Miyajima gate always looks amazing on instagram, and it seriously was a beautiful spot in real life. After a long hike up and down the central peak on Miyajima, we sat to watch the tide come in over the gate, surrounded by more begging deer. It's a great budget day out from Hiroshima and a good use of your Japan Rail Pass.
