Ivet Lalova-Collio (Ивет Мирославова Лалова-Колио) is a celebrated Bulgarian sprinter, known for her impressive performances in the 100-meter and 200-meter races. She has represented her country in five Olympic Games, starting with the 2004 Athens Olympics. Her personal bests are 10.77 seconds for the 100 meters (2004) and 22.32 seconds for the 200 meters (2015). Lalova has won multiple European medals, including gold in the 100 meters at the 2012 European Athletics Championships in Helsinki and silvers in both the 100 and 200 meters at the 2016 championships in Amsterdam. Despite suffering a severe thigh injury in 2005, which required a long recovery, she returned to elite competition and remained one of Europe’s top sprinters. Off the track, she married Italian sprinter Simone Collio in 2013 and is active in promoting athletics through initiatives like her sprint academy. Lalova currently resides in Italy, where she continues to contribute to sports and mentoring young athletes.
