AI-Powered Storytelling App | Data Science Capstone Project

What happens when data science meets imagination? ✨ MS in Applied Data Science students at the University of Chicago created Once Upon, an AI-powered storytelling app that brings children’s ideas to life. Inspired by a moment where a 4-year-old yelled at an Amazon Alexa for failing to tell the exact story she imagined—one about her favorite princess going to swimming class, the team built a tool that uses machine learning and natural language processing to craft personalized, age-appropriate stories in real time. This project was part of the MS in Applied Data Science Capstone Project, where students collaborate in teams to tackle real-world challenges, apply AI/ML techniques, and showcase their solutions at the Capstone Showcase.
