About this video
Ever thought about hiding a story inside a song? These two audio clips sound exactly the same, but one of them has a secret message buried inside—completely invisible to the human ear.
In this video, I’m diving into digital steganography but for Audio. The trick that makes it possible is surprisingly simple: the Least Significant Bit (LSB).
I’ll explain why WAV files are the perfect hiding place, why MP3s will completely destroy your secrets, and how I came up with a technique of using a “step rate” to invisibly pack huge amounts of data into sound. I’m not claiming ownership of this technique—I just kind of figured it out.
But this video isn’t just about the concept—it’s also about the process of actually bringing it to life. And honestly, it was wild. I used Manim to create the visuals, and it felt like I was fighting the machine the whole way. Animations flying off the screen, objects overlapping everywhere, text that just wouldn’t center, icons not being supported, and other error messages.
What you’ll see here is the back-and-forth of debugging, redesigning, and those moments when things finally clicked. I had to build icons from scratch, fix broken logic, and figure out how to make abstract data feel like something you could actually see and understand. It’s not perfect, but I tried.
So if you just want a look at what the real creative coding process actually feels like—mess, mistakes, and breakthroughs—you’re in the right place.
