About this video

Some sections of the Kryptos in the CIA headquarters have been solved already. The first person to publicly announce that the first three parts had been successfully deciphered was a computer scientist from southern California named Jim Gillogly. In 1999, he presented his solutions using a computer. Gillogly's disclosure was followed by the CIA's admission that David Stein, a CIA analyst, had also deciphered these portions in 1998 using conventional pen-and-paper methods. But during his accomplishment, this knowledge was kept within the intelligence community, and it wasn't made public until July 1999. In November 1998, it was revealed that "a CIA analyst working independently had deciphered the majority of it." The NSA claimed that some of their employees had also completed these three portions, but they had concealed their names and dates until March 2000. Are these people considered geniuses for solving the cryptographic puzzle? #kryptos #unsolvedmystery #infographics #solvedmysteries
