About this video
Video proof showing me entering the key provided, and it not working. This back up the stills that I provided when requested. Please watch and listen to video.
I came across g2a.com the other day, and after a little research bought a Dawn of War II. An old game, but at a fraction of what it costs on steam. It worked great! I got excited, and bought Bioshock Infinite. That also worked great. I said to myself, this site rocks!
I've been eyeing Arma 3 for some time now, and while not heavily discounted like some other games, it was nonetheless cheaper than Steam. So I purchased a Global Key from a 99% reputable seller with thousands of sales (need to be careful, some games are region locked). The key was delivered quickly, and upon entering into Steam I discovered that the key was NOT global, and as such I couldn't install. Well, no biggie I thought. I purchased g2a guard for just this very reason. The site said, 5 mins for a refund. Well it's not a simple as that I discovered.
A full 50 minutes later, multiple screen grabs to "prove" I didnt own the game, and an explanation that i would receive a refund instantly, but the funds wouldn't be available to me for 14 days.... Wait, what? "Instant" but with a 14 day hold? How the hell is that instant? I didn't see any mention of that on their website.. Of course not... They strongly suggest that you contact the seller, and resolve that way. Well, I've now spending my time trying to get my money back, so that I can buy from someone else and I can't do that, because my money is not mine for 2 weeks. So in essence, you kind of have to contact the seller, since you'll be waiting 2 weeks anyways.
So I've contacted the seller, who has up to three days to resolve the issue, or I then begin the 2 week "instant" refund.
Morale of the story, there are some good deals to be had on g2a, but you can easily get screwed as well. Be extra careful, and realize that if and when you do get a bad key, that you will have to wait 2 weeks for your refund. For me, 2/3 is not a high enough percentage to gamble my money and time on. Buyer beware.
9/11/15 UPDATE:
After the most ridiculous "evidence" shown (my screengrab vs the sellers) back and forth with a hostile seller, g2a shield awarded their decision to the seller on absolutely no merit, citing that the key was confirmed global but with no evidence to back it up. On the other hand, I recorded a video and posted it to youtube for them to see the key not working in the USA. Since you cannot reply more than twice in a case, I opened a separate ticket before their "judgement" was done, to ask them kindly to please make sure the "specialists" had the additional information I provided, as I felt I was about to get fleeced from a crook seller. g2a replied that the video could not be added. They have yet to give me a reason why. Shortly after I asked they all of a sudden "Resolved" the claim in the seller favour.
An absolute travesty of a company, if it is one... They do have legit keys here, but masked beneath that are many illegitimate ones, g2a makes money from them either way, and so it would make sense they protect their sellers as it means more money to them.
They failed to collect all necessary information, as I had given them video proof and they refused to look at it. They failed to deliver their laughable "5 minute money back solution". g2a shield means nothing but more money for them, since it did nothing to resolve and help me get money back. In the end I spent way too much time trying to recover $40, but I don't like getting hustled, and that's exactly what happened. I guess it's a lesson learned, but be VERY wary of this site, I would rather take my heard earned money and get a for sure thing, then a maybe with a lot of headache while lining the pockets of unscrupulous sellers.
I hope this review saves others from lost money and time.
9/12/15 UPDATE: Looks like g2a.com replied to my review saying I should have made sure I left screenshots, which I did. I provided both screenshots as requested and then I recorded a video. I was not refunded my money, and the "decision" still went to the seller.
