That means that the data you will be analysing can be interview transcripts, documents, reports, videos, social media postings, and so on. A codebook is essentially a coding manual that provides structured guidelines for assigning categories which represent broader thematic groupings to units of analysis within a qualitative dataset. Each category or theme consists of specific codes, which serve as labels for classification. Using a codebook is more common in research projects that analyze qualitative data, but do so from a more quantitative perspective. I'll explain what this means in a second.
