In India, they predominantly reside in Kargil, with smaller communities in the Leh district. Their language, Balti, is part of the Tibetan language family and is considered a dialect of Ladakhi. Remarkably, Balti remains highly archaic and conservative, preserving its roots closer to Classical Tibetan than many other Tibetan languages. Lyrics & Translation: Shukh ly Leela naati yoling.
