“My journey began far from the world of films. It started with theatre during my college days, simply because the art spoke to me. From there, I took a leap into assisting Rajkumar Hirani on PK—an opportunity I couldn’t pass up working with someone I admired so much. Fast forward ten years, I landed my first film with Yash Raj Films, Maharaj. Shortly after, I was signed for Loveyappa. The characters in both films couldn’t be more different, and I wasn’t sure why I was chosen. But one thing I do know is that filmmakers see something in me—something that assures them I can bring in the eyeballs.”
Being born as Aamir Khan’s son, a family deeply rooted in cinema, Junaid Khan’s journey wasn’t the conventional star-kid debut. Unlike many who take the fast lane into Bollywood, Junaid chose to build his foundation away from the limelight through theatre and working as an assistant director on PK before stepping into the world of films.
That long and patient pursuit finally bore fruit with Maharaj, his debut film—a historical drama. Junaid’s performance caught attention for its authenticity and depth. And while Maharaj marked his entry into Bollywood, it was just the beginning. Junaid is steadily carving out his own space, proving that talent and hard work—not just lineage—are what truly define an artist’s journey.
So tune in for a conversation that’ll leave you wanting more from life. Junaid shares it all—from performing theatre, assisting Rajukumar Hirani to how acting happened for him and the pros and cons of being Aamir Khan’s son.

About Humans of Bombay –
Humans of Bombay is a movement that started 10 years ago. We believe that every person has a story to tell and we want to help them tell these stories. In these years we’ve published stories across genres – stories of love, hope, faith, and courage. And through our storytelling, we’ve built an engaged community of over 6M!
Our idea is simple – to strike a chord with our community and catalog the beat of humanity, one story at a time.
