Tips for 5-lead EKG:

⚡️Be sure to place them in the intercostal space, NOT on the bone

🧠The more you set these up, the more you’ll remember placement! Most connection boxes or attachments have a tiny diagram to refer to if you forget

🫀Many 5-lead EKGs are for continuous cardiac monitoring or telemetry. Make sure you have the leads connected properly and keep in touch with tele monitoring if that applies 🙂

🍯These electrodes are STICKY! Be sure to shave the chest of excess hair, place them firmly on the chest, and always remove once they’re no longer needed. They can cause skin breakdown and irritation!
